London Metal Exchange (LME)

Tin Code reports can be used for ‘LME Passports’ under the sustainability disclosure variable. You can find more information here.

Tin Code (Standard 7.3 Responsible Sourcing) assessed with the ITA-RMI Assessment Criteria is listed as a conditionally approved partner under Recognised alignment-assessed standards (track A) for the LME Responsible Sourcing rules. Full approval is conditional upon implementation alignment assessment (LME Policy 5.2 (i)), which is in progress. For more information click here.

Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA)

For smelting, the ITA–RMI Assessment Criteria is recognised as fulfilling IRMA Standard for Responsible Mineral Processing requirements Chapter 3.4 subject to the IRMA’s additional requirements being met by the mineral processing operation.

Equivalency

ITA is in the process of benchmarking the Tin Code to other industry standards. This section will be updated with further information in due course.
